What to expect at Tobacco Dock when the clock strikes 00:00

With Friday 31stDecember 2021 marking the first time Tobacco Dock is open on NYE, we’re placing more emphasis on the clock striking midnight than any other venue in the Capital.

Due to the scale of Tobacco Dock we’ve planned for not one midnight moment, but four - one for each area of the venue and each one completely different!

The Great Gallery: Rudimental to host the ultimate countdown to 2022

For the midnight moment in the Great Gallery we had to go big and few acts come with the gravitational pull of Rudimental. Hailing from East London themselves, the chart-topping crew are capable of turning their hand to any of the city-cultivated sounds prevalent in our capital: drum & bass, house, garage or hip-hop - they do it all.

Rudimental are going to shoot us into orbit on the stroke of midnight with the help of dozens of screens in the room, helping to build anticipation and get everybody singing from the same sheet. Then, when we hit 00:00, the stage will ignite in a sychronised flurry of pyrotechnics and streamers, with the moment broadcast live to the nation via KISS radio.

The Cavern: Jax Jones to light up everyone in full colour

The midnight set calls for energy and positivity, so who better to call upon for the honour, than hometown boy Jax Jones? After a stellar year that saw the hit beat-maker launch his new label WUGD, Jax is switching the studio for the club booth to unleash all of the fresh music he’s sitting on.

As such, Jax has requested a very special midnight experience that will involve everybody in the room and we’re more than happy to accommodate. The Cavern is going to come together in an interactive, visual display of light and colour, as the darkest depths of Tobacco Dock come together in a mammoth climax to bring in the New Year.

The Terrace: Bad Boy Chiller Crew bring high jinx balloons from the heavens

Bradford bassline collective Bad Boy Chiller Crew are the life and soul of every party they’ve ever attended. It was a no-brainer to hand the DIY viral sensations the coveted midnight slot in the Terrace. The cheeky trio are guaranteed to whip everybody into a frenzy for NYE!

BBCC’s cult success can be attributed to how relatable they are and how they never take themselves too seriously, which got us thinking… what spectacle would do their brand of off-beat humour justice? And then it hit us, like a cracked egg to the skull: a gargantuan balloon drop! Can you imagine the scene as thousands of different coloured balloons fall from the heavens and disperse over the riotous crowd as the boys go mad on the mic? It’s going to be epic.

The Relentless Residence: Maxinne to make it rain down with confetti

For the Relentless Residence room we’re going for a proper Insta-moment. Make sure you have your phone ready as we shower the room in an explosion of confetti. Watch in awe as it rains down between you and your friends as you embrace and we welcome in 2022!

Midnight set duties fall to Maxinne - and what a year the Toolroom protege has had. The Red Alert-producer released her debut artist album this year and has just returned from a headline tour of North America. With the world at her feet, Maxinne is gonna lay it down and show why the industry holds her in such high regard.
